About Dr. Ashwini Karanjgaokar
I’m Dr. Ashwini Karanjgaokar, an Ophthalmologist and Eye Surgeon with 30 years of overall experience and 26 years as a specialist. My journey in ophthalmology has been dedicated to advancing the field of eye care, with a particular focus on vitreo-retinal diseases and pediatric ophthalmology.
I completed my Vitreoretinal Fellowship from the prestigious Sankara Nethralaya, a training that has greatly shaped my approach to managing complex eye conditions. My clinical practice is built on years of hands-on experience and a commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements in eye care.

Currently, I serve as an Honorary Teacher and Visiting Vitreo-Retinal Consultant at Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital. I specifically handle DGCA Class 1 Retina Evaluations for flying licenses and their subsequent management. I exclusively oversee the Pediatric and Neonatal ICUs for specific retinal problems and their comprehensive management, continuing care for these patients from infancy through adulthood.
We operate specialized Myopia Control Clinics at both Nanavati and Matru Ashish, following National Guidelines. Our facility at Matru Ashish offers Customised Visual Rehabilitation services when needed. I previously served as Honorary Teacher and Visiting VR Consultant at LTMMC, Sion, and currently extend my expertise to patients at Conwest Jain Clinic in Girgaum.
